A photo of Me!

I am Yong Sheng Yap (葉勇陞), PhD student at the University of Cambridge.

My research explores the nexus between cosmology and fundamental physics. The universe is a treasure trove for probing both the weakest and most energetic of interactions, yet those signals are buried beneath piles of intergalactic dust and the glow of foreground galaxies. Using techniques from effective field theories, I develop methods to model the distribution of galaxies and radiation to better extract information about fundamental physics. I am also particularly keen on applying these tools to better understand inflation and its observational signatures.
