I am Yong Sheng Yap (葉勇陞), PhD student at the University of Cambridge.
My research explores the nexus between cosmology and high-energy physics. The universe is a treasure trove for probing both the weakest and most energetic of interactions, yet those signals are buried beneath piles of intergalactic dust and the glow of foreground galaxies. Applying a variety of statistical and field-theoretic techniques, I work on identifying and chracterising new signatures of fundamental physics in the distributions of galaxies, light, and gas in our universe; and develop methods to better extract information about their nature.
